Speech-Language Pathology

A Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from JU’s highly regarded Brooks Rehabilitation College of Health Sciences will prepare you to assess and treat individuals with diverse communication needs. Our exceptional faculty will provide you with in-depth knowledge and skills in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of speech, voice, swallowing, language and cognitive disorders, with emphasis on becoming a medical speech-language pathologist. An MS-SLP will open doors to a rewarding career in a variety of settings, including schools, hospitals and private health offices.

The JU MS-SLP program is a two-year program developed in accordance with the certification requirements of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. It includes academic and clinical courses that provide:

  • Comprehensive coverage of major areas of clinical practice.
  • Specialized focus on specific areas of clinical practice.
  • Instruction on the etiology and characteristics of major disorders.
  • Knowledge and skills in the prevention, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of an array of communication disorders.
  • Hands-on learning activities that enable students to become proficient in a range of clinical skills, as well as oral and written communication in professional settings.

The Master of Science program in Health Informatics is seeking CAHIM accreditation

The School of Orthodontics Advanced Specialty Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthodontics is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

All programs except the Master of Science in Kinesiological Sciences are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The MS Kinesiological Sciences program is pending approval by SACSCOC.
