Master of Science in Nursing students at Jacksonville University attend JU’s highly regarded Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences School of Nursing. Our exceptional faculty teaches MSN degree candidates the critical thinking and decision-making skills that enable them to evaluate health and illnesses in selected populations, opening doors to rewarding positions in advanced patient care management and nursing education. Our graduates are highly recruited throughout the region.

The MSN program consists of five core courses plus additional courses required to fulfill one of five concentrations, or cognates, for a total credit-hour requirement of 30 to 46 hours. Online study is offered for the Clinical Nurse Educator and Leadership in Healthcare Systems concentrations. The MSN is a prerequisite for enrollment in the JU Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

Family Nurse Practitioner — Prepares advanced practice nurses in family and primary care settings.

Family Nurse Practitioner/Emergency Nurse Practitioner — Prepares advanced practice nurses in primary and emergent/urgent care settings.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner — Prepares psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioners to diagnose, treat and provide follow-up to individuals and families suffering from mental health issues.

Clinical Nurse Educator — A cohort-based program that prepares nurse educators to provide direct patient services and discipline-specific educational concepts to nursing practice.

Leadership in Healthcare Systems — A cohort-based program that prepares nurses for administrative leadership positions in a variety of healthcare systems.

The Master of Science program in Speech Language Pathology is a Candidate for Accreditation by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language

The Master of Science program in Mental Health Counseling is seeking CACREP accreditation

The School of Orthodontics Advanced Specialty Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthodontics is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

All programs except the Master of Science in Kinesiological Sciences are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The MS Kinesiological Sciences program is pending approval by SACSCOC.
