A Master of Science degree in Kinesiological Sciences from JU’s esteemed Brooks Rehabilitation College of Healthcare Sciences will prepare you to succeed in the rapidly growing field of movement science, with more than 30 established career tracks. Kinesiology is a unique and exciting discipline that covers the full spectrum of physical activity in relation to health, fitness, disease and rehabilitation as well as psychological, social-humanistic and additional professional perspectives. Our experienced faculty will help you fully explore this diverse field of knowledge.

The MSKS is a two-year degree program preparing advanced experts in movement science. With a focus on health, sport performance, injury prevention and fitness, the program leverages recent major investments in the university’s state-of-the-art kinesiology biomechanics and teaching laboratories. Students receive advanced instruction in the:

  • Study of Human Movement. Students learn to use technology to assess and study human movement and its relation to health and performance. Coursework relates human movement to biomechanics, anatomy, physiology, orthopedics, biomedical engineering, neuroscience, sport and exercise science and exercise psychology, rehabilitation, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and other.
  • Study of Physical Activity. Students explore the broad spectrum of human physical activity and strive to understand its impact on health, society, and quality of life.

The School of Orthodontics Advanced Specialty Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthodontics is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

All programs except the Master of Science in Kinesiological Sciences are accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The MS Kinesiological Sciences program is pending approval by SACSCOC.
